Art & Nature Inspiration.

A random selection of art that tickles my fancy. So colourful and bright and cheerful right? This artist is Jessie Breakwell, almost childlike in style, the pops of colour and simplicity put a smile on my dial.

A good day today. Working lots lately so can’t complain there. Good to be earning money! I have been swimming a lot lately too and that is also making me feel good. Plus a bit of time in the sauna to finish off my pool session, is a treat I look forward to.

Oh yes, this would be me. I also remember asking the driver in Iceland to stop so I could photograph Icelandic Horses…also amazing, slightly off topic, but hey, it’s a good story. Oh and I love poppies.

It has been a very wet winter. It has also been quite beautiful having so much rain. At times it has rained all night long. The sound of droplets pattering onto the pavers outside, splashing the trees and plants and helping them grow is comforting and calming. It has also meant more indoor time, more apple crumbles, more relaxing, more reading, more hibernation. And this is a good thing. Because, then when the sun comes out I will be ready to play outdoors all over again.

We usually have very mild winters in Perth, this cold, wet nasty one has surprised many people. There have still been patches of sun, enough for me to sit in my garden, bask in the sun with as minimal clothes on as possible. “Taps off”; so the Scottish say! And it is so appropriate. As soon as the sun is out, I want to take my clothes off! A nudist at heart!

I am a big nature lover. And illustrations. Illustrations of nature is certainly a win win!

I try to go hiking as much as I can. It is so much fun to be out in the wild, smelling the trees, watching the birds and enjoying the great outdoors as much as possible. It is also so good to de-stress, turn off the screens and get away from routines. When was the last time you spent time in nature? Get outside! Nature is so good for your mind, body and soul.

Have a great day! Say hi and tell me what you are up to!

  1. So you’re from Perth? Fantastic. I’ve been trying to find more NZ and Aust blogs. Who did “Find Beauty in Rain”? You using your “indoor time”? I really like it. I mean, we get a fair bit of rain in the south of the South Island! So best if one can find beauty in it 🙂

  2. Likewise. Spring is nearly here! More flowers already and lots of buds, like magnolias for instance. I can never get enough of seeing photos of the wildflowers in Western Aust. I don’t know when the season is but will you be getting out to photo them by any chance?

  5. I too love to hike and be outdoors. We went camping last weekend in Tahoe (California, USA) and I found it so very relaxing. I have just taken up swimming since January and really enjoy it as a form of exercise. I love the pictures at the top – the elephant in particular – so beautiful.
