Poetry and Art.

I feel compelled to write a lot lately. Poems are coming to me and I just need to write it all down in one swoop to get it out of me. These poems come me to in one hit. With little correction, I feel like it is a flow activity for me. I hope you enjoy my poetic expressions!

The breakdown

I was delusional

Going down a diagonal

Into an abyss

Completely amiss

from reality.

I believed in him

I saw his good

If only he could.

And be more good,

and less crazy,

less angry

less unpredictable

less scary fuming and raging.

Why be so angry?

What is that all about?

Why shout?

It made no sense.

One minute things are great

The next he is irate.

Losing his mind

Slipping into a rage

Like a rat in a cage

Let me out let me out scream and shout.

He used to be so nice,

All sugar and spice

Doing all the good deeds,

Fixing, cooking, kindness,

Fulfilling my needs.

And then boom,

He shakes up the room.

Like a raging storm

It all unravels,

It all comes undone.

The end.

Relationships sure are complex, and this last one was really challenging for me to work out. I still see so much good in him and keep remembering all the great things he did for me, around the house, and all the fun things we did together. I think it is healthy to reflect on positive experiences and take the good memories. But it is also important to hold firm and realise that sometimes relationships are just not meant to last. And that is okay.

Heading away to Adelaide for the weekend, so looking forward to that! Going to visit my Aunty. It has been awhile since I was in Adelaide so it will be nice to take a short break. I will no doubt write about it next week!

It’s funny as we get older we get more and more aware of doing things that are good for our bodies and our minds. My latest catch phrase with a friend “It’s good for your brain!” From playing scrabble, to eating salmon, to fasting, to playing tennis, there are loads of random things that are very good for your brain. Let’s face it we are need to have the highest functioning brain capacity as possible. I know I do. I know alcohol is definitely not good for your brain too! I am feeling so much better after a break. I will still drink but it is so good to take a little break from it and interrupt that daily cycle that was dragging me down. Life! Full of ups and downs and merry go rounds! ( Like my last poem!).

Yours in creative inspiration,

Anita xx

  3. Honestly I think the best thing you can do is focus on yourself, your health, your wellbeing, your joy, your hobbies, and reach out to your friends and plan fun things to do together. Life is full of joy!
