It has been so long since I have written my blog that now I have too many things to write about, which leads to a sort of paralysis. I am sure my fellow bloggers can empathise. But the only way to solve this problem is sit down and do the work. DO THE WORK. Well it’s not really work for me, it is quite fun. And it formalises my thoughts, helps to put my scatty brain thoughts into some logical sequence and reminds me that really I am quite capable of writing.

As I sit and type my feet are soaking in a foot spa. Well a bucket with salts and suds in them. As lovely as it is, it is also forcing me to sit still for long enough to type some words. My energy feels very restless again. I have already flung myself into the far reaches of the world multiple times with my visualising and dreaming, not really knowing what I will do next. But one can dream. And one does. Forced traps like foot baths help too. Try it. Hot tip of the day.

SO my day started at the beach having a swim, on this scorcher of a day here in Perth, 42 degrees! The car read 45 on the way home, so really it is too hot to even contemplate going to work right now. Excuse number one. The ocean was cool, little dumpy waves, but the roar and the rhythm served to calm my nerves somewhat. I am suffering from the shoulds and indecision at the moment. It happens in my brain. So many options then I feel overwhelmed. It seems to be getting worse as I get older. But from experience, things all settle down eventually and routines find their groove again. But let me go back a few steps, as it’s been ages. Let me go way back to December! Just the highlights, I promise.

End of school last year and I was quick to scoot down south to soak up some less busy pre Xmas time joy in the south west. Dunsborough is my favourite town of all time, but it just gets so packed with rich holidays makers, as let’s face it, it sadly has become too excy ( expensive) for the average Joe Blow. Being the true tight arse that I am, we camped, so that is always a cheaper option, and to me so fun. I went full Xmas this year, and even wore a Xmas jumper and earrings, who am I? I seem to be really getting into dress ups these days.

I travelled south with a good friend of mine Lizzie, she is a trooper, a great game player, patient, easy going and straight shooter. We went swimming at sunset, took walks, ate yummy food, touched clothes in shops, created some art, and sat out under the fairy lights enjoying the serenity. Overall a great trip.
Xmas came and went in a blur of excitement as it often does. I had party after party, a lovely xmas eve party with friends and then a really fun big orphans Xmas day with a big bunch of friends. Also my friend came down from Darwin and stayed with me for a week which was also really fun. We explored Perth a lot, swan valley, beaches, fremantle, visiting friends and generally had a fun time. Fun was the theme, can you tell?

After Xmas we jumped on a plane together and flew to Tasmania! We had booked a 5 day tour of the island and we had a great adventure. Meeting people from all over the world, we all crammed in a bus and sped around the island jumping on and off multiple times a day to take walks, swim in the sea, sample local produce and explore the calming nature of Tasmania. My favourite was the waterfalls and ferns, and beautiful walks around Cradle mountain. The botanical garden in down town Hobart was also sensational. Being a flower lover that I am I went mad for it! And the bumblebees! Big fluffy ones like in Canada! I can highly recommend Tasmania, it is the perfect size to drive all around and see all the things in a week or 3, depending on your speed.

After Tassie I hit up Adelaide for the last 5 days of my trip. I ventured down to Kangaroo Island for a day trip and then hung about the city, exploring the river walks, Rundle street mall, and even headed to Glenelg beach for an ice cream festival one evening with a lovely friend I had also met in Darwin too. I caught up with my Aunt and Uncle for a few outings, and high on my list of enjoyment was the art gallery and the botanical garden. Always a treat when I travel to S.A.
By the time I returned to Perth I was pretty tired after all that. I fell a bit sick for a week or so, as I think I had wore myself out. Sensitive little petal that I am. Once better I got back into my tennis and have been playing quite a bit again. We played in an Aussie day tournament recently and won the dress up competition going as ’Tradies’ all wearing fluro! So fun.
School has now gone back, but today all of Perth is burning alive, so I am quite glad to not be in the classroom just yet. Time will come and I will be back every day again soon, reminiscing my blissful days off!

This weekend I am having a dress up party, just for fun, because you see that is the theme I am going with. I am hoping everyone will come wearing their craziest Hawaiian outfit!! An easy theme to dress up to I think! It has been awhile since I had a party, always fun to bring your friends together and celebrate life, just because you can.
Okay I think I am officially caught up. Be nice to hear from my readers if you want to say hi! I do love a comment!
Wishing you all the best for 2024. I didn’t even get started on all those ideas. That will require another foot spa I think. Success, I did not move once when writing this!!! A miracle for a restless one like me.
Thanks for reading, all the best!
